Growing the CCC Family of Faith in Action
By Krista Petty, Development Administrator
“Wow!” is the word that keeps popping up during my first couple of days here at Carolina Cross Connection. I am blown away by all that CCC means to people in Western North Carolina and how CCC gives students amazing servant leadership experiences. What a privilege it is to become a part of this family!
Speaking of family… Let me introduce you to mine. I’ve been married to Steve for 19 years next week. He serves as the Family Minister at Concord Christian Church and I couldn’t be prouder of the way he leads families to experience faith together. We have three servant-hearted and sometimes crazy kids: Kayla (18) Jenna (12) and Ryan (10). We love watching movies, cooking and serving together. We recently helped a house become a “home” for a home-less family in our community. We painted (ourselves and the walls), sanded, and hauled off trash with other families from our church. What a privilege it was to serve together.
As Development Administrator, I’ll get to do a lot of things–from fun fundraisers and grant writing, to registering groups for camp and collaborating with NC communities to make a difference. I am here to help wherever needed so that CCC can live out the vision of making God’s love known. I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and supporters, and am most excited to introduce NEW people and groups to CCC and grow this great family of faith in action!
I’ve got some ideas on how we can grow the CCC family of faith in action and I’m sure you do too. If you have an idea, connection or suggestion for telling other about CCC 2010 Camp Weeks, send me an email or friend me on Facebook and share it! I’d love to hear from you.
